Tipi Thieves - Artist Felipe Merida is a native Guatemalan. His family moved to San Francisco in 1997 where he attended high school at the School of the Arts and spent a year at the San Francisco Art Institute. Frustrated by the fine art approach he then moved to Toronto, Canada where he graduated with a degree in illustration.

The recurring theme of TIPI THIEVES is an imaginary alias – inspired by Native American history and old western films blended with modern social media & 21st century culture. TIPI THIEVES is presented in art series that capture & visualize snapshots of the ingredients above.

Felipe currently lives in Brooklyn, NY working as a full time graphic designer & founder of TIPI THIEVES. In December 2011, he exhibited his first solo show TIPI THIEVES at Ed. Varie gallery in the East Village. A year later Felipe hosted a Pop Up show POLAR at Open House Gallery on Bowery Manhattan. In 2013 a solo one day only show in Williamsburg, Brooklyn & a group show at Paul Loya Gallery L.A.
